Kitchen Decisions | Appliances: Stainless Steel or White
Are you shopping around for new appliances? Over the past several years we’ve had a select few interested in white appliances, while stainless steel is still the most preferred finish for appliances. Many of our clients have gone with traditional and modern kitchens, which stainless compliments. Many homeowners are torn between the two; hopefully we can help with your decision making process. We found an article in a recent issue of HGTV Magazine where they asked Professional, Joanna Gaines, her opinion on choosing between stainless steel and white appliances. According to HGTV readers, 78% chose stainless steel, while only 22% chose white appliances.
Kitchen Decisions from the Professionals
Joanna Gaines, from Fixer Upper, stated that: “Yes, stainless steel appliances can show every smudge. But with proper care, the easy-to-clean metal won’t rust or chip, and it gives your kitchen a sleek look—and a better resale value.â€
We agree with Joanna Gaines, Stainless still definitely holds popularity above white kitchen appliances. Though there has been some creativity with white appliances, which might be the reason the trend is coming back. If you have a Pinterest or Houzz account, search white appliances and check out the sleek new white appliances that are beginning to take a stand. Who doesn’t love a traditional all white kitchen with pops of color?
